Spianata Calabrese is a cured sausage that stands out from the others for its size. The meat mixture, chopped to medium size, is obtained from the thigh and shoulder of the pig, with the addition of fat from the upper part of the loin and flavored with sweet pepper or hot Calabrian chili pepper. Ideal sliced to fill rolls and sandwiches in gerteral, but also great for appetizers, piz-zas, and focaccias
